I' don't have the money to get it done and won't for a long time yet but, Tom want this in with the datalog.
The a/f gauge witin a few minutes goes - and stays like that. I've done the firewire cable and I have to take it to a auto electrician to finish it because I'm sick of trying to mod parts to make the parts work in the the 1st place. I've done the SCT Device Updater 2.6 and still nothing. at least if you smile you will look back and go ill just write that off as a learning curve.Īgain be thankful it was the tuner itself and not your car and that the tuners going to be repaired/replaced.I've done the datalogging without the AEM a/f gauge for Tom, now there's a new problem my pc laptop ( using Vista) won't read the SCT xcal 3. i know its a epic pissoff when stuff like this happens but hey cant blame me from trying to make you smile even if it is a crap day. you have now bricked not only the tuner you bricked your car xD and just a FYI a replacement BLANK ecu STARTS at $500 from ford and thats without the time to program it which is another fee and then they have to configure everything including reprogramming the keys xDĭepending on the kind of bricking some ecu's can be recovered and reused some cannot and has to be replaced if portions of the ECU go bad like the coms the only people that can repair bricked ECU's are the manufacturers of them ( Bosch/Denzo etc etc ) they will have to physically open the ECU and use a Chip Clip and piggy back the prom to directly write the chips.Īnd if your wondering im trying to make you smile. say you did this to your car plug it in its starts without you knowing OH instruction yank the tuner or turn it off.
this is why most 2.0 duratecs are buttkicked by the euro equivalent and why we have such different engines as the manufacturers dummy the engines to bring them to spec for the country they are going to. all north american engines are pretty much dummied. IE if you get a mild tune to bring an engine back up to its proper spec and not try to push the engine to its extreme limits. again customers who get the proper tune for the proper vehicle for the right duties i have no issues.
im blaming the customers i have to deal with for getting them to aggressive and having a tune for a track on the streets and popping engines left right and center. i am NOT blaming the companies that built the tuners or made the tunes.
the only car i dont have to toy with is my jag as thats quad exhaust and loud enough under its factory superchargerĪs for me i dont know how to use those tuners, im the one that usually has to go into the cars and fix the disasters caused by them. There is a possibility of the unit was in the middle of a download from either software on the pc or fetching info off the net and the rush to unplug while it was fetching caused it to get a partial file which is basically corrupted and think that was the full file when reinitializedĪgain i want to learn more about how these units work how they operate why they break or have issues like yours so in the future i can actually be able to answer but to me honestly all my cars are soft tuned i usually short ram and catback not for power just for sound thats all. i have about 20 of those style tuners ranging from 4cl imports to domestics to diesels that the customers opted to have removed and tossed i kept them to tinker with as they are 100% useless to anyone as once programmed thats it they are buggered. The tuners i have are usually vehicle side plug ins they end up being plugged into the factory ecu and are wired to a selector switch or a small unit mounted on the dash. Click to expand.as for me i dont know how to use those tuners, im the one that usually has to go into the cars and fix the disasters caused by them.
